It all began in Piana de Greci, Italy...

A small island just South of Palermo. lived my Great Grandmother, Petronilla Cassara Cilino.  She was  voracious in making great Italian dishes and desserts. In October of 1914  she boarded the Europa with a large steam trunk and set sail to Ellis Island bringing with her the sauce recipes Cilino's uses today.  Cilino's is inspired by six amazing women:

Without them, Cilino's would not exist. 

 

Cilino's opened in January 2018 in Wellman, Iowa. The hometown of my wife's family. The perfect location to bring tradition and roots into an already historic and family centered town.
